JW Auto Group · Private Investment Club

A private investment club for the side of the table you don't usually get invited to.

Private equity buys, rolls up, and exits businesses like ours for double what they paid. Regular people watch it happen from a 401(k). Josh is opening a small, private investment club for people in his community to sit on the other side of that table with him.

The private equity firm that pitched Josh on buying one of his companies. This is what happens in rooms most people never see.

What the club is built around.

Josh already owns and operates auto shops. Not a spreadsheet, not a pitch deck. Real locations, real revenue, real payroll, every week. Private equity keeps trying to buy him out because the math on rolling up service businesses works. So the club is built to run that same roll-up plan, together.

Buy quietly. Fix the operations. Consolidate the back office. Add locations. Grow cash flow. And when the offer comes in from the same kind of firm that pitched him at Lowe's, be on the sell side instead of the sold side, as a group.

Wall Street calls it "consolidation." Main Street calls it "somebody bought my mechanic." The people at the table on the buy side of that trade tend to do very well. Members of the club sit at that table together instead of reading about it later.

Why he's opening a small door.

Josh doesn't need the capital. He needs the right people around the fire. Operators, business owners, professionals who understand that ownership beats employment and that patient capital in a real business beats another index-fund position.

So he's forming a small, private investment club from his own community to move on the next phase of the roll-up together. Members-only. Not a fund. Not a pitch. A club.

Who the club is for

  • Business owners and operators
  • People who prefer real assets over paper
  • Long-term thinkers. Not flippers.
  • People Josh would actually want in the group text

Who this isn't for

  • Anyone looking for "guaranteed" anything
  • People who need liquidity next quarter
  • Get-rich-quick tourists
  • Assholes. Life is too short.

The honest part.

Real ownership means real risk. There are no promised returns here, no guaranteed exit, no "we can't lose" story. If a deal comes together and you're in the club for it, you own a piece of something real, with all the upside and all the downside that comes with that. Anyone who tells you otherwise about a private business is either lying or new.

The upside is that when this works, it works the way private equity works, and members are on the inside of it instead of reading a Wall Street Journal article about someone else doing it.

Membership is small on purpose
Josh is only having conversations with a handful of people. Once the seats are spoken for, the club closes to new members for this round.
